At Glendale Church of the Brethren, our church is blessed by people who serve with faith, kindness, and care. Our pastor, staff, and church leaders work together to support worship, fellowship, ministry, and the life of our church community.

Interim Pastor

Rev. Alma Zamudio Maciel

I am a first-generation Latina, married to my wonderful husband, Octavio. We have two sons: Ramsey and Pio.

I earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Sothern California and I a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. I was ordained to Word and Sacrament in 2021. I am also a trained Spiritual Director. Throughout my years in ministry, I have served in several churches. I consider a privilege to serve the Church in general, and particularly the Church of the Brethren. I bring a deep love for the Church, a commitment to integrity, and a heart rooted in the words of Jesus in John 16:33: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” I take heart daily in the One who has overcome.

Office Secretary

Linda

Linda has served as the office secretary at Glendale Church of the Brethren for more than 20 years. She has been a steady and caring presence in the life of the church, helping support the daily needs of the congregation, church office, and community.

Treasurer

Jonas F.

Jonas has been a member of Glendale Church of the Brethren since 1975 and has served as Treasurer since 1982. For Jonas, the church has always been a safe place where he can truly be himself.

Outside of church, Jonas has worked in accounting for more than 35 years. He is also an avid follower of baseball, basketball, and football.

Music Committee Chair

June C.

June grew up in the Brethren Church and has been part of Glendale Church of the Brethren since 1963. She has been sharing her gift of music with the church since she was 8 years old.

Her longtime faithfulness and love for music continue to be a blessing to the church community.

Lead Musician

Elya B.

Elya serves as the Lead Musician at Glendale Church of the Brethren, helping support worship through music and song. Through music, Elya helps create a meaningful and welcoming worship experience for the congregation.

Our church leadership helps guide the mission, care, and daily needs of the congregation. Together, they serve the church through prayer, planning, hospitality, and service.
